Where We Work

The majority of our projects are in and around Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife, Perth and the Scottish Borders. However we work all over Scotland and the north of England.

What is Involved

Find out more about the design process here:

Fees

Our fees for residential projects are established using our standard fee scale. They typically range from around 8-15% of the ex VAT construction cost for a ‘full service’ (From the start of initial design work to completion of building works on site). Although we provide a ‘full service’ for most projects, in some cases, a partial service is possible and our fees would be reduced to reflect this.

We generally work on projects with construction values starting from around £100,000 + VAT. For smaller projects in Edinburgh, we recommend that Clients approach the Edinburgh Chartered Architects Network (ECAN).

Extension interior with circular rooflights and downlights

We are a Chartered RIAS (Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland) practice. By choosing an RIAS Chartered Practice, you can rest assured that you’ll receive a level of excellence in both design and service. We are also members of the Scottish Ecological Design association.

As a small practice, the person working on your design from start to finish will be one of us – and that brings the benefits of continuity, and our experience, at all stages of a project.

Design, Sustainability, Detailing

We are equally comfortable shaping the initial design of a project over a blank sheet of paper with a Client, or working with a Building Contractor on site to realise a project.

Whether we are painstakingly restoring an old building, or designing a new home, we adopt passive, low-energy design principles and seek to integrate low-carbon solutions and renewable technologies wherever possible.

We are interested in detailing and craftsmanship and work with trusted Builders to achieve high quality yet cost effective design.
